Episode 50 of Something In The Water is a very special celebration of Waycross, Georgia’s original Doghill Gang, brothers who grew up together on Mount Pleasant Road in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Host Uncle Dave Griffin welcomes former podcast guests Billy Ray “Bird Legs” Herrin and James “Sharky” Cocke, along with his older brother, Gary “Tick” Griffin, as the gang pulls back the curtain of time with stories of that valued vicinity, Doghill; vacations in Fernandina Beach, Florida; vices of young men; and teenage vocations that didn’t require much work. Former Waycross Journal-Herald managing editor, Gary, is given the Tail of the Weak spot, as he gives us a history lesson on the Doghill Gang and a loving tribute to recently deceased childhood neighbor and lifelong friend, Greg “Slick” Griffin.
