Ep. 43 - Ken George
Ken George, born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, is our first international guest on Something In The Water: Episode 43. Ken, a former musician in the heydays of the 60s-70s and currently a cigar box guitar maker, has spent half the year in Canada and the other half in Waycross, Georgia for the last 16 years. Joined by cohosts Sean Clark and Uncle Dave Griffin, the three share stories of the road and talk musical influences over the years, including Mr. George’s Canadian meetings with Jeff Beck of The Yardbirds and Ronnie Hawkins, the tireless, rockabilly leader of The Hawks, who later became known to the world as The Band. Sean picks on one of Ken’s 3-string creations and Uncle Dave sings one of his bluesy originals, “Chainsaw Buzz” in the musical segment, followed by another Tail of the Weak titled “Spud, Duck, and Donnie Mac: A Brief Education in College and Chicken Coops”.
